من صفات القائد الفعال القدرة على التحكم. أي القدرة على التحكم بالنفس وفي الأتباع. لكن لهذا التحكم قواعد وأصول، أما إذا أتى التحكم بصورة مفاجئة وعنيفة فإنه يفقد الكثير من فعاليته.
ويجب أن يكون القائد قوي الشخصية كي يحافظ على التفكير الواضح والمنطقي رغم المتاعب والضغوط، ويبحث عن الحقيقة ويتمسك بها بكل إصرار مهما كلفه الأمر، ويثبت في المآزق بكل صبر حتى لو تراجع الجميع من حوله وانسحبوا. وقد تظن عزيزي القارئ أن هذه الصفة سلبية وتميل إلى الديكتاتورية، وهذا ليس صحيحاً إذا التزم القائد بالقواعد الأربعة للتحكم. وهذه القواعد هي الحضور والمعرفة، الإدارة، التوجيه، النفوذ.


وسنبدأ اليوم بالقاعدة الأولى للتحكم، الحضور والمعرفة.

1. الحضور المستمر، ومتابعة التفاصيل، وشمولية المعلومات. تواجد القائد المستمر والمتابعة والتدقيق من قبله ومعرفته بالتفاصيل يشعر الآخرين بقدرة القائد على التحكم العادل. وكذلك القراءة السريعة للأحداث والتفاعل معها بشكل إيجابي. ولذلك كان عمر بن الخطاب يقول: أرأيتم إذا استعملت عليكم خير من أعلم، ثم أمرته بالعدل، أكنت قضيت ما علي؟ قالوا نعم. قال: لا، حتى أنظر في عمله أعمل بما أمرته أم لا. وفي هذا متابعة للتفاصيل وتدقيق في عمل القائد التابع. ومن مظاهر الحضور والمعرفة اختبار الأتباع. وهذا ما فعله عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه عندما أرسل إلى أبي عبيدة أربعة آلاف وأربعمائة درهم وقال لرسوله: أنظر ما يصنع. فقسمها أبو عبيدة بين الناس. فلما أخبر عمر بما صنع قال: الحمد لله الذي جعل في الإسلام من يصنع هذا.

2. المعرفة بالموضوع والفهم العميق. أوجز المفكران الغربيان بيكون وهوبز قبل أكثر من قرنين المقال في قدرة القائد على التحكم فقالا: إن المعرفة تعني القوة. وهذا أبو بكر الصديق يقول لعمر بن الخطاب عندما تضايق من تصرفات عمرو بن العاص في معركة ذات السلاسل: إنه لم يستعمله رسول الله عليه الصلاة والسلام عليك إلا لمعرفته بالحرب.

وحتى في الرسائل التي كان عمر بن الخطاب يبعثها إلى الجيوش أثبت رضي الله عنه معرفته وقوته وفهمه العميق لمجريات الأمور. فقبل معركة القادسية أوصى عتبة بن غزوان في سيره إلى العراق بقوله: يا عتبة، إن إخوانك من المسلمين قد غلبوا على الحيرة وما يليها. وعبرت خيولهم الفرات حتى وطئت بابل، مدينة هاروت وماروت ومنازل الجبارين. وإن خيلهم اليوم لتغير حتى تشارف المدائن، وقد بعثتك في هذا الجيش فاقصد أهل الأهواز فاشغل أهل تلك الناحية أن يمدوا أصحابهم بناحية السواد على إخوانكم الذين هناك، وقاتلهم مما يلي الأبلة. ولو لم يكن ابن الخطاب على معرفة ودراية وفهم عميق بتفاصيل الحرب والمنطقة لما استطاع أن يوجه قواته بالشكل الصحيح.

[ [246] Hast thou not turned thy vision to the Chiefs of the Children of Israel after (the time of) Musa? They said to a Prophet (that was) among them: "Appoint for us a king, that we may fight in the cause of Allah." He said: "Is it not possible, if ye were commanded to fight, that ye will not fight?" They said: "How could we refuse to fight in the cause of Allah, seeing that we were turned out of our homes and our families?" But when they were commanded to fight, they turned back, except a small band among them. But Allah has full knowledge of those who do wrong.
[247] Their Prophet said to them: "Allah hath appointed Talut as king over you." They said: "How can he exercise authority over us when we are better fitted than he to exercise authority, and he is not even gifted, with wealth in abundance?" He said: "Allah hath chosen him above you, and hath gifted him abundantly with knowledge and bodily prowess: Allah granteth His authority to whom He pleaseth. Allah is All-Embracing, and He knoweth all things."

[247] Their Prophet said to them: "Allah hath appointed Talut as king over you." They said: "How can he exercise authority over us when we are better fitted than he to exercise authority, and he is not even gifted, with wealth in abundance?" He said: "Allah hath chosen him above you, and hath gifted him abundantly with knowledge and bodily prowess: Allah granteth His authority to whom He pleaseth. Allah is All-Embracing, and He knoweth all things."
[248] And (further) their Prophet said to them: "A Sign of his authority is that there shall come to you the Ark of the Covenant, with (an assurance) therein of security from your Lord, and the relics left by the family of Musa and the family of Harun, carried by angels. In this is a Symbol for you if ye indeed have faith."
[249] When Talut set forth with the armies, he said: "Allah will test you at the stream; if any drinks of its water, he goes not with my army; only those who taste not of it go with me; a mere sip out of the hand is excused." But they all drank of it, except a few. With they crossed the river, he and the faithful ones with him, they said: "This day we cannot cope with Jalut and his forces." But those who were convinced that they must meet Allah, said: "How oft, by Allah's will, hath a small force vanquished a big one? Allah is with those who steadfastly persevere."

[249] When Talut set forth with the armies, he said: "Allah will test you at the stream; if any drinks of its water, he goes not with my army; only those who taste not of it go with me; a mere sip out of the hand is excused." But they all drank of it, except a few. With they crossed the river, he and the faithful ones with him, they said: "This day we cannot cope with Jalut and his forces." But those who were convinced that they must meet Allah, said: "How oft, by Allah's will, hath a small force vanquished a big one? Allah is with those who steadfastly persevere."

[249] When Talut set forth with the armies, he said: "Allah will test you at the stream; if any drinks of its water, he goes not with my army; only those who taste not of it go with me; a mere sip out of the hand is excused." But they all drank of it, except a few. With they crossed the river, he and the faithful ones with him, they said: "This day we cannot cope with Jalut and his forces." But those who were convinced that they must meet Allah, said: "How oft, by Allah's will, hath a small force vanquished a big one? Allah is with those who steadfastly persevere."
[250] When they advanced to meet Jalut and his forces, they prayed: "Our Lord! Pour out constancy on us and make our steps firm: help us against those that reject faith."
[251] By Allah's will they routed them: and Dawud slew Jalut: and Allah gave him Power and Wisdom and taught him whatever (else) He willed. And did not Allah check one set of people by means of another, the earth would indeed be full of mischief: but Allah is full of bounty to all the worlds.
